FAQ
What do I need to do to get a coupon code so my local arts festival can get donations from purchases at www.BestAmericanArts.com?
Simply apply online. There is no cost or obligation.
Does my organization need to be a 501(c)(3) to qualify?
No. Just be the host of an arts festival with American artisans or a more general community festival that provides booth space to American artisans.
Will Best American Arts assist in marketing our arts festival?
Sure. We’ll place your logo and festival information on our web site under the Local Arts Festival tab in our Explore the Arts section. We’ll also work with you on press releases and other publicity efforts. We’ll be happy to do an email blast with any email addresses you have collected to announce the festival and the fundraiser. We can work with you on any handouts or street banners etc. that you wish to use to promote the fundraiser. We provide all graphics support at no cost to your organization.
When and how does the organization get paid?
Because customers can return or exchange for any reason under the Best American Guarantee™, we pay organizations quarterly (March 31. June 30, September 30 and December 31) in arrears when at least $25 is payable as calculated on net sales (returns are netted against new sales). The organization receives a check in the name of the organization for 10% of net sales based on the purchase price paid for USA domestic sales (including APO/FPO), excluding shipping and handling fees and any sales taxes, where applicable. If required by law, the organization must provide properly completed tax forms prior to payment.
Do you sell the email addresses or other personal data of customers or the people involved with the organization?
No. We don’t sell information of any kind to anyone. For more information, see our Privacy and Security Policy.
Is the web site secure for people to use their credit cards?
We use VeriSign, a part of the PayPal System, for credit card processing. We use NetSuite to host and run our web site, and NetSuite has a great reputation for security. For more information, see our Privacy and Security Policy.
Is there an audit trail of all purchases using my organization’s coupon code?
Because we use NetSuite, there is an audit trail at this independent third party, if your organization or its auditors ever have a question or concern about transactions using the coupon code assigned to your organization. However, for privacy reasons, we cannot, of course, share the name and personally identifiable information about individual customers. We will share aggregate data with your auditors. For more information, see our Privacy and Security Policy.
Is there anyone you don’t want to work with?
Unfortunately, yes. We do not want to work with groups advocating violence, illegal activities or exploiting, hurting or abusing anyone. We do not want our brand associated with pornography, online gambling or negative behaviors. We do not want anyone using our brand or this program to trick or deceive anyone or to violate any applicable laws. We do reserve the right at our discretion to cancel any coupon code and revoke the limited license provided to use our business name and logo. Where we believe there has been an abuse of some kind, we reserve the right to cancel a coupon code and donate the 10% otherwise payable to a group to a nationally recognized charitable organization holding a current 501(c)(3) designation by the IRS selected by us.
Can this program change?
While we don’t have plans to change this program, every program at every company is, of course, subject to change at some future date. However, any donations earned by your organization will not be lost due to a change in the program by us.
