Jen Armstrong

Jen Armstrong's work is motivated by an appreciation of fiber; its wondrous variety as well as its subtle complexities. She designs for comfort, movement and style, using a vast array of natural and luxury yarns.

Jen's work has been featured in national ballet performances from San Francisco to New York's Lincoln Center and the Juilliard School of Dance. When wearing her garments, it's difficult to decide which is better: the look or the feel.

Born in Champion, Ohio in 1969, she earned a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Kent State University, then headed west. Jen made San Francisco's Mission District her home for more than a decade, before moving JAK Designs back to her birthplace in 2007.

"I am strongly dedicated to preserving the environment while acting responsibly in my own community,” says Jen of her work. “JAK Designs has always been a Green business and, when I am able, I plan to run a strictly solar-powered knitwear business."
