Judy Rush believes fabric is a fundamental transfer material, a nurturing medium. In all of history, babies have been swaddled in some sort of fabric to comfort them and provide safety. We carry this need for acceptance, for hope and love into our adult lives.
Judy explores this energy transfer in her work. She touches every piece of fabric, she knows every detail of the finished piece and transfers her experiences into her art and in the end, hopes that she has given you some insight into how you can become a more thoughtful human being.
Judy's work shown here is created using traditional quilting methods. All the work is strip pieced, machine sewn, machine quilted and the fabric hand dyed by Judy.
