Karen Clark Coston's handmade art jewelry ranges is style from delicate to bold. Karen uses a variety of gemstone beads and textured metals to achieve a distinctly elegant look. Her startrail series was initially inspired by time-lapse photography of the constellations. Star trail photos are created using a long exposure time in a fixed location and the resulting imagery features sweeping ephemeral light trails as the stars trek across the sky. Each piece in the apexspire jewelry startrail series is a one of a kind roll print and, like the stars, no two are ever the same.
Karen has a BFA in textile design form Moore College of Art and Design and an MFA in mixed media from Howard University. She creates her line of handmade art jewelry at her studio in Baltimore.
