· The humble beginnings of Hops (Humulus Lupulus) started as a naturally-growing bitter botanical used by the ancient Romans. Its soothing and relaxing quality became a cure all to treat common ailments. It wasn't until 822AD in Northern France at a Benedictine monastery that its brewing aspect was incorporated in the making of beer. Now an essential part of the beer-making process, this amber nectar known the world over has been enjoyed by many ever since! The Hops collections features hand patinaed bronze with select styles with champagne pearls. Each of the hops features a matte gold plate finish. Each piece is handmade in the U.S.A at the Michaud Michaud Design studio in Bellmore, New York.
