· Michael Michaud's Red Poppy collection features hand patinaed bronze with red cast flower petals and bronze pistils. Following the trench warfare of the first World War which took place in the poppy fields of Flanders, red poppies have become a symbol of rememberance of soldiers who have died during wartime. This was the setting for the famous poem "In Flanders Field" by John McCrae. Red Poppies, or artificial ones, are worn on and around November 11th, Remembrance Day (Veterans Day in the USA) to honor them.
