Survivor Tree Leaf Pendant

  ·  By Michael Michaud

Survivor Tree Leaf Pendant by Michael Michaud. Cast in a mold created directly from a Callery Pear tree. A Callery Pear tree was planted at ground zero and was discovered to be still alive when the rubble was cleared weeks after the 9/11 attacks. The tree was rehabilitated and has grown from 8 feet to 35 feet since it was discovered. Replanted at the site in 2010, the Callery Pear, now forever known as the Survivor Tree, is a symbol of the city and country's resilience. Michael Michaud's Survivor Tree Jewelry is handcrafted in New York City and features bronze with matte silver plate flowers and enamel highlights. Some styles also contain with freshwater pearls and peridot beads.
